IAC/KHA/NPWS will be holding a working bee on Teddy's Hut from Fri 12 to Sunday 14 of April.
You will walk in early Friday morning from Dead Horse Gap/The Cascades carpark and exit on Sunday 14 afternoon.
NPWS have requested a mid-April timing over the original planned ANZAC long-weekend to avoid potential unstable weather in late April.
Scope of works:
(NPWS) Replacement of some horizontal wall slabs and sheet iron on roof creating greater overhang for water run-off.
(Volunteers) Assistance with carpentry work, re-laying of the hut floor with bulk clay mixed with linseed oil and compacted and earthworks outside hut to improve drainage.
All clay, oil, timber, sheet iron, and tools will be helicoptered in by NPWS ahead of the work party.
Enquiries from IAC Members keen to enjoy 3 catered days 'off the grid' in a beautiful higher altitude part of the Pilot Wilderness welcome. Register your interest to attend at huts@iacski.com.
